Eliminating Stress During the Holidays

The holiday season is a wonderful time of year.  Friends and family gather together to enjoy fun activities, delicious meals and wonderful celebrations.  Unfortunately for some of us, this magical time of year can also be accompanied by stress.  Stress can come from many sources and manifest itself in many ways.  Here are few of my go-to essential oil blends that help me stay on top of my game during the holiday hullabaloo.

If you get tension headaches, tense muscles, and fatigue when you get stressed, let me introduce you to an amazing topical essential oil blend.  Past Tense is a blend of wintergreen, lavender, peppermint, frankincense, cilantro, marjoram, roman chamomile, basil, and rosemary essential oils. This blend comes in a roller-bottle applicator that makes it easy to apply yourself to areas that affected by stress.

Just roll on to the back of the neck, temples and anywhere you have sore or tense muscles.  I have used this for headaches, migraines, and even on my husband's sore neck.  The doctors thought he had a ruptured disc, but because of Past Tense, we were able to relieve the swelling and pain he was having.  It changed his diagnosis and he was as good as new. - Not bad!

If you have what I call a "nervous tummy" when you are stressed, the DigestZen "Tummer Tamer" Blend is for you.  Stress can cause upset stomach, nausea, gas, bloating, cramps, and even heartburn. DigestZen can treat it all.  Just apply 1-2 drops to the abdomine to relieve these symptoms.  You can also take 1-5 drops in a vegetable capsule internally.  Make sure to swallow the capsule with 4-8 oz of water.

Stress can also take it's toll on our sleep patterns.  During the holidays we often travel to other places.  Whether it's a bad mattress, sharing a room with your kids, or simply staying up later than you normally do, the holidays can really mess with our sleep patterns.  Stress can cause us to feel more tired even though we get enough rest.  It can make it hard to go to sleep or stay asleep.  Check out this great essential oil blend.

Serenity is a blend composed essential oils that are know for their calming and relaxing properties.  When applied to the bottoms of the feet at bedtime, it promotes restful sleep and encourages REM sleep.  You can also use it in a diffuser at night or add it to bath water to help calm yourself down and encourage an overall feeling of well-being.

And last but not least, Citrus Bliss.  This is my favorite oil blend!  It is a blend of citrus oils the help to clean out toxins and impurities from your body, elevate your mood and relieve anxious feelings.  It makes a great perfume and can improve your ability to cope with stress. Just inhaling the aroma directly from the bottle or applying 1 drop to each wrist and the base of the neck help me feel cool and collected.

I hope these tips are helpful as you seek a more natural way to deal with your stress this holiday season.
